Prov Habana

With a strong component of the agricultural and fishing sectors in its economic base, the province of Havana ,- arisen as a result of the new political-administrative division of 1975 - has in its beaches of white sands, and in the calmed environment of its fields two elements of high significance for increasing the tourist development.

Always Jibacoa, a tourist pole located in the northeast of Havana, it has attracted the attention of national and foreigners for the excellent quality of its beaches, of warm and calmed waters that, when being flanked by elevations of until 100 meters high, reflect parallel to the coast ,they confer to the place an incomparable sensation of privacy.

Steep sectors, a rich and very well conserved marine bottom, and the enjoyment of beautiful visuals, constitute other attributes that enhance the tourist values of this area, next to the exuberant vegetation that surrounds its environment, virtually located on the way to half between the Cuban capital and the Varadero spa.

Very near there, Puerto Escondido and the Peñon del Fraile offer the visitor the possibility to enjoy a beautiful marine landscape and to notice, also, the presence of numerous wells for the extraction of petroleum and gas, an activity that charges growing importance in the economy of Havana.
In route to the City of Havana, in the town of Santa Cruz del Norte, it is the biggest plant producer in rum of Latin America in whose cellars the famous rum is born, "Havana Club”. In the coast of this small town numerous camping bases represent a possibility more than enjoying, in more economic facilities, of the beaches of Havana.

It is necessary to continue advancing toward the occident and to leave the Cuban capital behind, to consent to the other spa of importance of the Province Havana: El Salado, distant not much more than 30 kilometers of the José Martí International Airport, and with an intimate beach protected by a coralline reef, what propitiates the existence of magnificent conditions for the practice of the diving. From there it is easy to move until Artemisa, where the area of resources managed Rancho Azucarero and the ruins of the celebrated coffee plantation La Angerona deserves the visitor's attention.

Inland Havana has other many attractiveness to show, among these the Museo del Humor, located in the town of San Antonio de los Baños, International Traditional Headquarters of the Biennial of the Humor; the Escaleras de Jaruco that show a landscape singular resultant of the own topography of the land and where the existence of numerous headlands and caverns transform it into scenario for the practice of the tourism of adventures and expeditionary tourism.

In the south coast, the Surgidero de Batabanó (port of marine connection with the (Isla de la Juventud) provides the opportunity to know one of the main reservations of marine sponges of the Cuban archipelago and an important center of chelonians capture and crustaceans.
