The Ministry of Public Health is the organism in charge of directing,
to execute and to control the application of the politics of the State
and the Government as for the public health, the development of the medical
sciences and the medical-pharmacist industry.
Main Functions:
- To Exercise the control and the epidemic surveillance of the illnesses
and their factors of risk
- To Exercise the control and the sanitary surveillance of all the
products that can have influence on the human health
- To regulate and to control the approval, execution and evaluation
of the biomedical investigations or of any type that is carried out
directly in human beings
- To dictate the hygienic conditions and the healing of the environment
in those aspects that can be aggressive to the human health and to control
their execution through the state sanitary inspection
- To regulate the exercise of the medicine and of the activities that
is similar to it.
- To Exercise the evaluation, the registration, the regulation and
the control of the medications of national production and of import,
medical equipments and expendable material and others of medical use.
Specific Functions:
- To Plan and to execute the promotion actions, prevention, cure and
rehabilitation of the human health
- To organize the services of preventive and healing medical attention
for the whole population
- To Organize the services of health like part of the social attendance
dedicated to the old men, handicapped physical and mental, and other
tributary of another type of attention
- To elaborate and to maintain the system of statistical information
regarding health to the effects of satisfying its own necessities like
organism and the other national and international organisms
- To Organize, to direct and to control, the process of specific formation,
improvement and the professionals' continuous education and technicians
characteristic of the activity
- To direct the production activities, export, import, commercialization,
distribution and storage of medications
- To direct the commercialization activities, distribution and storage
of articles and medical equipments
- To Direct the activity of commercialization of the services of health,
technical attendance, the formation and foreign personnel's specialization,
as well as Software and scientific Literature similar with the own activity
