Work
- To emit the national currency, and to look for its stability.
- To Contribute to the macro-economic balance, and the orderly development
of the economy.
- To Guard the international reservations of the country.
- To propose and to implement a monetary politics that allows reaching
the economic objectives the country is intended.
- To assure the normal operation of the internal and external payments.
- To dictate norms of obligatory execution.
- To Exercise the functions related to the discipline and supervision
of the financial institutions and the representation offices, which
are authorized to settle down in the country, and any others that the
laws commend it.
Besides the classics functions referred previously, the Central Bank
of Cuba should carry out other challenges: to perfect the monetary system
that permits the execution of the economic activity, allows its precise
mensuration, contributing to the analyses of efficiency ,and that are
made on real bases, and stimulate the effectiveness of the economy in
general and, very in particular, the productivity of the work; to normalize
the external financial relationships of the -including the topic of the
foreign debt - and to support the administrations of credit of the integral
banks, of the national system ,and of the Cuban companies, by means of
bilateral contacts with other central banks, organisms of reliable credit
to the export, and other official and private financial institutions.
