In the ports and Cuban airports Customs use for the control of the travelers at the entrance to the country the well-known system of Red Channel and Green Channel. To choose one of them is considered to all the effects, like a Verbal Declaration.

They will use the Red Channel, and therefore, they will fill out Customs Declaration of Goods the travelers that:

1. Import or enter the country articles that are not their belongings. Understanding those of his/her property that are the necessaries during the trip, with a reason for their use and duration, and imported or brought for their personal use and no for trading, or with other destination.
2. Import or enter the country regulated or forbidden articles.
3. Import or enter the country articles that are not of their property, surrendered by third, for residents in Cuba.
4. Import or enter the country articles that should pay fees.

Should also fill the Customs Declaration of Goods the travelers that import or enter the country articles with the purpose of re-exporting them again:

1. Currency and other values above the five thousand (5,000.00) dollars.
2. Works of art and objects of numismatic value.

The rest of the passengers will use the Green Channel and therefore they will be subjected to the Verbal Declaration. However, the Customs will be able to request and/or to make the physical control to passengers that have chosen the Green Channel and to its baggage.

The control people that travel with diplomatic passport and their baggage it will be adjusted to that settled down in our legislation on the matter, and the same ones, will use the Green Channel.
