ALL THE TRAVELERS

They are in the obligation of declaring before the Customs those articles whose import is regulated, or those that seek to be imported definitively. They won't be able to enter to the country articles whose import is specifically forbidden.

They are entitled to import their personal belongings, those that will enter to the country free of the customs fee payment. In general terms it is intended for belongings the articles, new or used, that a traveler can reasonably need for his personal use in the course of his trip, keeping in mind all the circumstances of this trip and the intermediate stays, with exclusion of any imported or exported merchandise with commercial or definitive ends.
Except for the teenagers, you can import new or used articles that are not part of your belongings, until a maximum total value of $250.00 US, once every natural year.

They will also be able to:

• Import or enter the country all or part of their belongings like non-accompanied baggage in the moment from their arrival to the country.
• Import or enter the country, up to 10kg of medications free of charge, whenever the same ones come in their original and correctly identifiable containers.
• Import or enter the country up to a hundred (100.00) pesos national currency and up to two hundred (200.00) pesos of the instrument of payment denominated convertible peso.
• Import or enter the country cash without limit any quantity of freely convertible currency, checks, and bank transfers, check or other means of payment. However, in the case of the non residents in the country, when the import surpasses the five thousand dollars and it is pretended to withdraw a quantity later or bigger than this figure, he/she will fill a "Declaration of Values" in the entrance customs with the objective justifying its import, in the moment of the exit of the country.
• Import or enter the country garments and other objects of metals and precious stones.

However, in the case of the non Residents in the country, when the value of the same ones surpasses the five thousand dollars and it is pretended to withdraw a quantity whose value is superior, later on, to this figure, he/she will fill a Declaration of Values in the entrance customs with the purpose of justifying its import, in the moment of the exit of the country.

TOURISTS

To the customs officers effects, it is understood for tourist the foreign resident in a permanent way outside of Cuba that enters to the country with resting intentions or of health, to not be devoted to artistic or sport activities remunerated, without immigration purpose, for a term not smaller than 24 hours neither bigger than 6 months.

People that arrive to the country in tourists' quality will be subjected to the same general dispositions that the rest of the travelers.

Also, to be signatory Cuba of the Convention of Customs Dispositions for Tourism, its national legislation is in agreement with that specified in the same one, for what the tourists will be able to import as belongings the articles that are detailed in the text of the referred Convention as such, those that will enter to the country like a temporary admission, free of the fee payment of customs and they should be re-exported at his/her exit. Among them they are: the photographic cameras, of movie and of video, hair dryers, electric shavings, radios and recording portable, and other similar articles of personal use. They can also import temporarily a portable personal computer and their cellular telephone.

The tourists will be able to temporarily also import a slight vehicle of motor for one period of up to 30 days, extended previous application for 30 days more. In this case, the application of temporary import will be carried out directly in the customs for where the traveler enters to the country.

The tourists will be able to import new articles definitively, or used by a maximum total value of $250.00 US, once every natural year. Until the total amount of $50.00 US, these articles won't pay fee of customs. The rest, until the one collides established of $250.00 US, they will pay as customs fee, the 100% of its value.

PERMANENT RESIDENTS

The permanent residents in the country will be subject to the same general dispositions that the rest of the travelers and they will declare the regulated articles or forbidden that bring with them or be part of their belongings.

Besides the belongings that exported temporarily at their exit of the country, the permanent residents will be able to import definitively, once in every natural year, new articles or used by a maximum total value of $250.00 US. Until the total amount of $50.00 US, these articles won't pay rights of customs. The rest, until the one collides established of $250.00 US, they will pay as rid of customs fee, the 100% of its value.

The permanent residents in the country that return after accomplishing an official mission abroad for more than two years, can import his/her "menage". Understood by his/her house furniture, the articles, furniture or used tackle that not having the character of belongings, are good for the use or comfort tames, including appliances. There are not included in the "menage", the specifically forbidden articles neither the slight vehicles of motor (cars and motorcycles). For the import of the "menage" the interested ones will present in the customs for where the same ones arrive to the country a letter of the organism for which they traveled that support and reflect the time of permanency to the exterior.

ARRIVE TO RESIDE PERMANENTLY IN THE COUNTRY

People that arrive in Cuba authorized to reside permanently in the country will be subject to the same general dispositions that the rest of the travelers and they will declare the regulated articles or forbidden that bring with them or be part of their baggage.

These people however are authorized to import their "menage". Be understood as the house furniture, the articles, furniture or used tackle that not having the character of belongings, are good for the use or comfort tames, including electric appliances. There are not included in the "menage”, the specifically forbidden articles neither the slight vehicles of motor (cars and motorcycles).

For the import of the "menage", these people will present to the Customs the document sent by the Headquarters of Immigration and Foreignness of the Ministry of the Interior that support and reflect this migratory condition.

ARRIVE TO RESIDE TEMPORARILY IN THE COUNTRY

People that arrive in Cuba authorized to reside temporarily in the country will be subject to the same general dispositions that the rest of the travelers and they will declare the regulated articles or forbidden that bring with them or be part of their belongings.

These people will be able to import their "menage", whenever they have leased for more than one year, or bought, a property to some of the Real State Societies authorized to operate in the country. Be understood as "menage", the articles, furniture or used tackle that not having the character of belongings, that are good for the use or comfort tames, including the electric appliances. For the import of the "menage", these people will present in the customs for where the same ones arrive to the country the Contract signed with the Real State Societies and a Certification sent by this last one that supports and reflects that the same one is effective.

They are not included in the "menage", the specifically forbidden articles and in dependence of the reasons of their stay in Cuba; they will be able to import in some cases a slight vehicle of motor.
